The British Karate Standards Commission

British Karate Trading & Safety Standards Commission Certificate.

The British Wado Federation announces its launch of the British Karate Standards Commission, which has been created to act as an ‘independent body’ for karate clubs and instructor standards. As it seems the numerous, ‘all-styles sport-karate’, Governing Bodies have failed to implement this most important aspect to the general running of any traditional or sport-karate club/association, so it has come upon us at the British Wado Federation to show and lead the way towards safe and legitimate karate practises within England and the UK.

If a club can prove it possess certain minimum standards then it will receive the British Karate Standards Commission Certificate and BKS Commission Boxmark.

Applications for this award will cost just a 'one-off' payment £25, mostly to cover expenses, administration and certification. However, the ‘Boxmark’ (similar to the British Safety Standards Kitemark) will show any potential customer/visitor that all implications and infrastruture are in place for a legal, safe, healthy & secure activity.

Criteria of Minimum Requirements.
1. Fully Registered Black-belt within a legitimate National Governing.
2. Coaching & Safe Practice Certificate, which has been issued by a National Governing Body or similar.
3. Instructor Insurances.
4. Activity Specific Enhanced CRB, which has been issued by a National Governing Body.
5. Activity Specific 1st Aid Certification.
6. Permanent, or long standing, training facilities.
7. Clear pricing on ALL websites, advertising literature and resources (no hidden charges).
